Gulmarg
Gulmarg was called ‘Gaurimarg’ by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah. Sultan was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes inscribed with wild flowers. Gulmarg was a favourite haunt of Emperor Jehangir who once collected 21 different varieties of flowers from here.
While Gulmarg is an all-weather resort with refreshing summer season and the main reason to come here is the off-piste, deep-powder, long-run skiing and snowboarding. The Himalayan resort of Gulmarg is one of the newest and increasingly popular ski destinations.
Jammu
Jammu is second largest city after Srinagar, popularly known as the "City of Temples". Innumerable temples and shrines with glittering "Shikhars" soar into the sky, like caretakers of the city, creating the ambience of a truly holy city. Tucked away in the foothills of the Himalayas, with the picturesque river Tawi flowing alongside, stands the land that Raja Jambu Lochan discovered one day while he was hunting.
Katra
Ma Vaishno Devi Shrine, which is 13 Km uphill from Katra. Situated in the foothills of Trikuta Mountains, Katra is visited by more than 6.2 million devotees each year.
A trip to the cave shrine is by far the most important activity in Katra. Majority of the devotees prefer to trek up the 13 Km route to the shrine. But there are other options available as well. You can hire a Palki or take a pony ride
Leh
Leh is famous place and main commercial hub in Ladakh region. Airport of Ladkh is also located in Leh. Main attraction of Leh town is Namgyal Palace, which is a nine story building. It was opened for tourism activities in 1974 for tourist coming from outside countries.
Pahalgam
Pahalgam is in Anantnag district and is about 96 Kms from Srinagar. On Road to Pahalgam one comes across the beautiful Lidder Valley with important spots of Mattan and Aishmuqam.
Patnitop
Patnitop is a very beautiful and famous hill station. Patnitop is 120 km from Jammu and located on Jammu Srinagar Highway passes. It is offers beautiful picnic spots, peaceful walks and breathtaking views of the mountainscape of the Chenab basin. It is generally covered with a thick layer of snow.
Srinagar
Srinagar is the largest city and capital of Jammu and Kashmir state. It is situated in Kashmir valley and lies on the bank of Jhelum river. Srinagar is famous for his beautiful lakes and houseboats. it is also know for traditional kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits.
Sonamarg
Sonamarg is a very beautiful tourist spot in Srinagar District on the Srinagar Leh Highway. The nearst Airport is in Badgam Distt. well conected with major cities of inida. The nearest Railway station is Jammu. Bus and service is available from Srinagar which leave at fixed time from the Srinagar Bus stand. Taxis and other sort of transport can be hired from Srinagar at pre-fixed rates.
Zangla
Zangla is an old monastery situated in the nearby village of Tsa-zar. The village lies mid-way between Stongdey and Zangla. Zangla is the nodal point on the popular Padum-Strongdey-Zangla-Karsha-Padum round trip, which covers most of the cultural sites of Zanskar.
